Say it or Play it!! Episode one

I like that you had a clear premise for this sketch, and I am always a huge fan of people using comedy as a vehicle for airing there political views. Even more I love anyone who makes fun of George Bush. HA HA HA. However, there is only one joke here and that is that you are using songs to say what GB is saying, yet you do it for over 4 minutes. We are watching the same joke over and over for 4 minutes. This is not good. You lose an audience quickly. After the initial joke, its kinda boring…it’s the same clip of Bush over and over again, the editing effects are sort of weird, and the sketch doesn’t go anywhere. Again, it’s a good idea, but only for a 45 second bit or as part of a larger set up.

THE GOOD Nice to someone taking on Issues with a capital I. It’s a cute conceit, as well, with the song clips. THE BAD There is no reason for this to be longer than 60 seconds, and it’s five minutes long. I had a hard time making it through.

THE GOOD We hold these truths to be self-evident: Bush is a weenie and his Iraq policy bites. This is a fun, original way of underscoring what 66% of the American public thinks. THE BAD See above. See also “shooting fish in a barrel.” Of course, if you’re the sort who enjoys seeing a dog kicked when it’s down, he gets in a couple of good licks. THE UGLY Did I mention it’s too long? Really long. It just goes on and on and on, sort of like the “insurgency” in Iraq.
