I am whining profusely, as you can see.
I am actually myspace friends with the sound of young america, which is the podcast by Judge Jesse. And he kind of looks like Kent.
Man if Kent wins I want you guys to be all like "IT'S ONLY CAUSE HE LOOKED LIKE JESSE" because that would be really funny.
I read the comments posted for the three contestants and find that Kent’s friends johnnywalkerblue and taphead represent Kent and Brown University as a group of classless sore losers. They whine like spoiled brat pre-schoolers who think whining is more important than talent. Looking at the three contestants objectively, Kent is not funny in the least and lucky to be mentioned in any comedy competition. I also read the bios on all three groups and Better Than The Machine and the group from Philadelphia are very impressive while Kent has done nothing to raise an eyebrow…except whine. The ironic thing about the comments is that there are two professional groups representing themselves with dignity and one amateur throwing a temper tantrum. I find such remarks by the loser and his moronic supporters as an embarrassment. The halls of Brown University may be covered with ivy, but it’s obviously poison ivy.
This one is the only one that really feels like a performable comedy sketch to me. This isn't a dig at the others, merely just a way to illustrate the differences. The other two are much more dependent on the benefits of video, with jokes coming from the ability to cut, or from location changes. Kent's short feels like it's playing out in real time.
And that probably has a lot to do with why I liked this one the best, but that really all comes down to personal preference.
Still, good luck in the finals. I hope you win.
Hey, Kent, I didn't mean that as a dig at you or your school, I was just annoyed that johnnywalkerblue made a personal attack on soundsofsilence. But I guess what can you do, random fights seem to always pop up on these Internet forums. Still looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.
Funny, but I feel like the character went undeveloped past the initial glimpse into his weight-lifting/health obsession. Initially, however, the character is very well-timed. It's just it wears, and wears, and wears. Your straight man also seems a bit off kilter--too relaxed to believe. It's not quite Felix Ungar-Oscar Madison duo comedy, which I hold as a standard for funny man/straight man comedy.
The video work was mediocre, but the cuts were fairly crisp. I laughed, and then I sat. And sat. But when I laughed, I was quite entertained. Best of luck!
So let me get this straight. You combined acting (a solid performance as a looney bit character), comedy (there were jokes that made me laugh), and an actual plot. I believe those are the three constitutive factors of shittiness, yes. DrinkMe23, you are a sage. A veritable Roseanne Barr of comedic knowledge.

I thought this video was awesome. I laughed through the whole thing, and I definitely didn't think it was too long. Definitely not a "shitty sketch" in my opinion! Great job, Kent!!
I have no idea what to say to this video. Except that it is way too long. Other than that I can't even fathom making critiques on something so terrible. There were some laughs but when you draw it out for such an incredibly long time it makes it really dull. If you cut it down it would be much better. However I do love how you can be several different characters. I wish the best of luck in the future. Cheers.

Another great character. Your ability to be different people is great. There were a lot little things in here that were funny. Like sprinkling the skin on the mashed potatoes.
