Like a story from the silver screen, it is not often you hear about two brothers traveling halfway around the world, leaving everything behind, to fulfill a common dream. In the summer of 2006, this fairytale began in Minneapolis, Minnesota when the Widman brothers fused their Swedish pop with Midwestern indie rock to create Love in October. Combining their talents with West Coast guitarist Nik Pfeifer and hometown drummer Mike Swanson, they have taken Minneapolis by storm and are conquering the Midwest. Through their debut EP, recorded with maverick producer Ed Rose (Motion City Soundtrack, The Get Up Kids), they have formulated a fast and energetic sound based on Swedish pop sensibilities.
After releasing an epic modern-day Renaissance music video, “A Day in the Life Of,” the band has distinguished itself as one of the most multitalented unsigned acts in the country. Love in October will return to the studio in May to complete their first full-length effort, followed by an aggressive summer touring schedule. “We love making art in all
mediums as it illustrates life through our eyes,” says front man Erik Widman. Growing by leaps and bounds, Love in October is a band that will soon rock your iPod playlist. |
