Born on Independence Day, it is no mystery why Melissa Burnos has lived one thought, as an artist and as a person: To thine own self be true. Melissas calling was apparent at a very young age. Beginning her classical dance training at 4 years old, Melissas talents stood out. She first rose to national prominence by claiming a coveted position as a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader and appeared before audiences at hundreds of charitable and national events with the NFL. As she continued with her dance training, she also began to cultivate her vocal talent. After she earned her English Literature degree, Melissa began teaching and focused on refining her vocal gifts. Her fierce passion for writing poetry soon exposed her natural abilities as a songwriter. Encouraged by her dear friend and Bee Gee, Maurice Gibb, her singing and songwriting skills flourished.
